DSBS was SBA's public directory of small business profiles for roughly fifteen years. It was where contracting officers and prime contractors looked up firms by NAICS code, socio-economic certification, and location, and where small businesses maintained a capabilities narrative and keywords.
On July 9, 2025 SBA retired it and launched Small Business Search (SBS) at search.certifications.sba.gov. The old DSBS address redirects to the new tool. SBS added search by business name, UEI, and CAGE code, and filtering by location, certification, NAICS, keywords, and business type.
Existing profiles were migrated automatically — but not cleanly. Firms have widely reported missing keywords, blank capabilities narratives, and certifications that did not carry across. SBA also dropped certain VOSB and SDVOSB joint-venture designations around August 1, 2025. If you operate through a joint venture, check how it displays rather than assuming.
